We invite you to discover and enjoy the cenotes in Yucatan. Explore these underground river systems typical of the soils of the peninsula. Truly beautiful and spectacular. Learn about its origins and its different forms: open, hidden, semi-hidden and cavern-type. But the most important thing is that you can swim and cool off in them, where you will surely have a pleasant experience.
These cenotes that were formed approximately 10,000 years B.C. and that, in pre-Columbian times, the Mayans attributed them as sacred places, for water supply and also considered as spiritual entrances to the underworld. Now they are beautiful recreational places where you can take a bath, swimming in their refreshing waters and thus mitigate the heat that prevails in the Yucatan peninsula.
